Watts Completes 2024 WAVE Reverification

Wave Reverified

Watts has successfully completed reverification for The Water Council’s WAVE: Water Stewardship Verified program. Watts was the first company to earn verification in 2022 and the first to reverify in 2024. This reverification indicates the organization successfully maintained the WAVE two-year verification which assessed water-related risk across the enterprise, identified the highest water-related impacts using credible water-related data and implemented best practice in improving water stewardship performance.

During the WAVE reverification process, Watts prioritized seven of its sites with the highest water risk and highest water usage across the enterprise; identified the watersheds in which they operate; updated the water balance to ensure there are no major changes to the site’s water inputs and outputs; and engaged the community around giving back in the water space.

As a result, Watts took a variety of actions at the local and global level to reduce water consumption, increase reuse, improve water quality, and reduce negative impacts upstream and downstream. These included expanded water metering, continued community engagement and site-specific projects. Watts also enhanced disclosures to be more compliant with international frameworks to reflect its goal to advance local and global water stewardship across its facilities and in the communities where it operates through stakeholder engagement and partnerships.

“For 150 years, Watts has been a leading provider of technologies and solutions designed to promote safety, energy efficiency and water conservation around the world,” said Robert J. Pagano, Jr., Watts President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of the Board. “We understand that every action has a ripple effect, and this WAVE reverification allows us to continue looking beyond our footprint and make a larger impact in the watershed as a whole. We are excited to extend our partnership with The Water Council so that, together, we can preserve our most precious natural resource – water – for generations to come.”
